Matt Harakal

Meet Chef Matt Harakal, a culinary maestro with a passion that runs as deep as his diverse culinary heritage. Growing up in a household where French finesse met Ukrainian warmth, Chef Matt’s love for cooking was sparked at a young age. Family meals were not just about nourishment but were an essential part of their cultural tapestry. His professional journey kicked off at the tender age of 18, diving into the world of fine dining in Massachusetts. Soon after, he found himself in the vibrant culinary scene of Miami, crafting culinary wonders in large hotels and clubs across Florida.

In 2000, Chef Matt embarked on a pivotal chapter of his career, joining the prestigious Ritz-Carlton. Over the next decade, he honed his skills, working his way up to become a training chef. His culinary prowess took him on a journey, traveling extensively and leaving his mark on kitchens around the world. During his remarkable 10-year tenure at the Ritz-Carlton, Chef Matt delved into various culinary realms, from catering grand events to crafting intimate meals for celebrities and private families.

Steve Martinez

Meet Chef Steve Martinez, a culinary maestro hailing from the picturesque landscapes of Colorado. Steve’s culinary journey began at Four Winds, where he dedicated eight years to refining his skills and cultivating a passion for creating memorable dishes that transcend the ordinary.

For the past five years, Chef Steve has held the esteemed position of Executive Chef at 21 North, where his culinary prowess has left an indelible mark. Known for his insatiable desire to create, Steve finds joy in developing unique and approachable meals that reflect his creativity. Frustration only sets in when he can’t add his own signature spin to his culinary creations.

Now, Chef Steve Martinez, alongside Chef Matt Harakal, is set to bring their combined expertise to Che Bello. With a commitment to authenticity and a passion for quality products, they aim to elevate the dining experience in Bloomington. The wood-fired grill adds a smoky richness to the steaks, and the Cognac mushroom and fettuccine dish is a culinary spectacle created tableside in a fresh Parmigiano Reggiano wheel.
